L'Église Saint-Louis de Vincennes possède une architecture originale de style néo-byzantin, caractéristique du renouveau de l’art sacré dans la première moitié du XXe siècle.

The Church of Saint-Louis de Vincennes dates from the first quarter of the 20th century. Begun in 1914, construction of the church was interrupted during the First World War and was not completed until 1924. The church was built by the architects Jacques Droz and Joseph Marrast. The Campanile and the glorification of Saint-Louis date from 1927. The interior decoration was carried out by the Sacred Art Workshops (a group founded in 1919 by the painters Maurice Denis, Georges Desvallières, Henri Marret and the sculptor Bourdelle). Worth noting in particular are the frescoes by Marret (especially the Way of the Cross) and Denis (the Beatitudes and the Glorification of Saint-Louis which decorates the back of the apse, behind the altar), and the statue of Saint-Louis by Carlo Sarrabezolles. The Maurice Dhomme ceramics and the ironwork by Raymond Subes are also of a very high quality.
